Straits Tale Reversible Girl Onesie

Each design is carefully imagined through the Maison Q lens — playful, thoughtful and filled with whimsical details. Every print carries a tale of its own, lovingly brought to life by our team of creatives.

Here are the stories behind our CNY 2026 prints:

Straits Tale

Our A Straits Tale Toile print is a whimsical ode to the Straits, imagined through a tapestry of heritage and symbolism. Designed in a classic toile style, it depicts scenes of life along the waterways: bridges arching gracefully over rivers, sampans gliding across calm waters, and rows of shophouses and pagodas that root the story in place.

Animals much loved in Chinese culture appear throughout, each carrying its own auspicious meaning. The panda, a gentle symbol of peace and friendship; the phoenix, representing renewal and grace; the crane, standing for longevity; and the tortoise, embodying wisdom and endurance. Orchids bloom across the print — Singapore’s national flower and a symbol of refinement and beauty — adding a regional touch to the festive landscape.

Great Race

The Great Race brings to life the legendary tale of how the twelve zodiac animals earned their place in the Chinese calendar. Set along the bank of a flowing river, the scene brims with energy and detail, inviting little ones to discover something new with every glance.

All twelve animals are here — from the clever rat and steady ox to the spirited horse and loyal dog — each racing toward their destiny. Around them, lush palm trees sway gently, while a flourishing mandarin tree and a Chinese money plant with its circular leaves add layers of abundance and good fortune. Pineapples, a symbol of prosperity, nestle among gingko leaves that stand for resilience and hope.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

• A crew neck baby girl onesie that features gathers at the thighs and frill details on the sleeves. When worn, the onesie fashionably puffs up from the waist to the thighs making your lil’ girl look as cute as a button.

• Snap closure buttons at the bottom of the onesie and halfway down the back for ease of wear and to help facilitate a quick change of diapers. 

• This is a reversible piece and can be worn inside out. Double the fun, twice the mileage.

• 100% cotton.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

• Gentle machine wash, on cold.
• Wash with like colours in a laundry bag.
• Do not soak.
• Iron on medium heat. For a reversible apparel, iron on medium and away from the hemline. Iron towards the centre of the apparel so that the two pieces of fabric in your reversible piece does not gather at the hem.
• Do not iron over brand labels or snap closure buttons.
• No clothes dryers.
• When washing, be mindful not to use too much detergent as this, in some cases, may affect the durability and colour of the cotton (a natural fabric) in the long run.
